Create an original piece of work during the two day session that you are entirely responsible for and learn how to scan, print and prepare paper for framing in the London studio. Whether representational, stylised, impressionist, abstract or photographic you will be guided through the process expertly. Be part of London’s exclusive artist appreciation culture and visit a current exhibition in the capital.

Then enjoy a light lunch at the Chelsea Art’s Club, the exclusive members only club that has been home to artists since 1891, and discuss the exhibition viewed and your creative goals before being introduced to the preparatory afternoon of ‘plein air street drawing’ or the ‘open street’ photographic session.  

Be guided through the professional artists’ and photographers’ supply equipment at Green & Stone and learn the techniques to produce your own personal artwork for your own portfolio or as a gift for someone special.

Day to day

Itinerary

Day One - Gallery Visit

Meeting at one of the current photographic or art exhibitions in central London, we will view and discuss the work on display and how it may influence your session. Lunch will follow at the Chelsea Arts Club along with a street session on drawing or photography in and around the area.

Day Two - Practical Day

A chauffeur driven car will drive you to Michael’s London studio for the practical day - drawing or painting or photographic session. Learn the professional’s tips to help produce your image or photograph and spend the morning experimenting.

11:30am - Photographic expression & personal creativity

- 1.5 hours How to shoot the horse within the nuances of a natural setting, changing light and effects. Including critical observation, lighting theory and the appreciation of the environment and atmosphere. Using smart phone and digital SLR photography, to shoot, practice and edit.

4:30pm - End of session

Tea and end of session group discussion

Things to do

- Entrance into one of the following galleries; the Saatchi Gallery, Tate Britain, the National Gallery, the Photographers Gallery or the V&A.

- Learn how to plate mark, emboss and prepare the images for framing.
